However, the club urgently requires donations of good quality, recently obtained books.
The Benoni Library has become more dependent on books that the club supplies, as government funding has become limited.
The books that are collected by Friends of the Benoni Library are added to the library’s shelves, sold to buy new books for the library or are donated to charity organisations.
The club encourages members of the public to visit the library and to join the Friends, to read the wide variety of books.
If you wish to join as a member of Friends of the Benoni Library, the fee is R40 per year.
This will also give you an opportunity to take out books for a longer period and you will have first choice on the brand new best-sellers.
The Book Bash will run from 9am till 4pm on Friday, and 9am till noon on Saturday.
