Bunny Park feeding scheme shifts around

The Bunny Park Animals 911 Group wasn't impressed with the amount of food available for animals at the Benoni Bunny Park on Friday, November 6.

The group has been feeding the animals at the park three times per week, but agreed to reduce the frequency to one, on the condition that the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) provide food at the facility daily.

Tania Forrest-Smith, a member of the group, said 911 will check up on the feeding every day and decide by Sunday, November 15, whether or not they should intervene.

Themba Gadebe, EMM spokesperson, said the municipality has always provided food for the animals on a daily basis.

The 911 group is still asking for donations to help feed and care for the animals.
