Ex-servicemen need your support

Around 1 500 bikers are expected to descend on Benoni at the weekend, in honour of Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day), on Sunday.

The bikers and members of the public will converge at the Memorable Order of Tin Hats (Moth) Reveille Shellhole, on Moth Road, which is behind Willowmoore Park.

There will be a military exhibition, live music, a wreath laying ceremony, a strongman competition, plenty of food and entertainment for children.

The parade will take place at 11am.

There is an entry fee of R60 and children under 15 get in for free.

All the proceeds will go to the SA Legion, who assist ex-servicemen in need.

People who would like to donate money, food or clothing to the SA Legion, can contact Carleen Ross on 084 767 9333.
