How could you do this?

Jann Suttie, of Crystal Park, writes:

To the person who drove a red BMW down Mercury Street on a Friday afternoon, stopped at a red robot and casually dumped on the pavement a box – which contained a young mother cat and her two tiny, defenceless kittens – I would just like to say that, thankfully, I do not know who you are.

I do know that you a cold, heartless, callous and cruel person.

If it was your cat with her kittens, why could you not have taken them to an animal rescue centre, a vet or the SPCA if you no longer wanted them?

That would have been a responsible and humane thing to do. To leave them on the side of the road, where the little souls could have been killed, was a despicable act of cruelty.

Mahatma Ghandi said that a nation could be judged by how they treat their animals.

Well if your actions are anything to go by, then South Africa will be found sadly wanting in this regard.
