SPCA and would-be member make peace
After an apparent confrontation several weeks ago, Karen Mills is primed to join the Benoni SPCA.
“I’ve engaged with the SPCA regarding membership,” she said.
“There have been some changes in management and they’ve been very helpful.
“The society asked me for all the relevant documentation so they can assess my application to become a member, and it’s been quite transparent so far.”
Mills invited Benonians to join the SPCA, saying: “People have to put their money where their mouth is and do something.”
The society responded by saying that Mills was asked to present herself as a contributory potential member of the SPCA.
“She was busy and couldn’t send it yet, but we’ve been in correspondence with her and are sure it will be good,” the society said.
“She asked for all our policies and the Act regarding the SPCA, which we sent her.”
