Mayor wishes matrics well

Ekurhuleni mayor Clr Mondli Gungubele has wished the matrics well for their final examinations.

He emphasised how these exams will inevitably determine the pupils’ lifelong career options.

“It is vital then that learners take their studies to heart as they ‘write for their lives’, so to speak,” said Gungubele.

“This is your one chance to prove that this is but a stepping stone for you as you soon enter the adult world, with adult responsibilities.

“You have been preparing for this moment, and your teachers and parents have been pushing you to go the extra mile, to study harder, to give it your all.

“The final test is now upon you all, and you know that you are ready and capable.”

The mayor highlighted the importance of managing stress levels during the exams and how parents and siblings should play a role in ensuring a home environment that is conducive to study.

“As the City of Ekurhuleni, we wish you all the best of luck and we have no doubt that you will give it your utmost best,” added Gungubele.

He said education is the key to success, and it all begins with these final examinations.

“Always remember this is not about passing or failing, but rather working harder to realise your dreams going forward,” said the mayor.

“Should you succeed this time around – well done; but, should you not, never lose hope, but pick up the pieces and give it another shot.”
