Woman arrested with 29kg of dagga

A woman was arrested for being in possession of 29kg dagga, with an estimated street value of R10 000, on October 21.

The street vendor was apprehended at around 1pm, on Mayet Drive, Actonville.

Benoni SAPS cluster priority task team leader Capt Alie van den Berg said an informer told police the woman was in possession of drugs.

On their arrival, the suspect was found with three bags of dagga which were wrapped up in tape.

The 28-year-old, who was charged with dealing in dagga, is believed to have been supplying smaller drug dealers in the area.

The woman was expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrates Court today (October 23).
