Woman dies following Western Extension accident

A woman, believed to be in her 70s, died in a Western Extension accident this morning (October 13).

The accident involved a bakkie and a Toyota car, on the corner of Harrison Street and Prince’s Avenue, at around 9am.

According to a paramedic on scene, the driver of the Toyota sustained slight injuries.

The elderly passenger was critically injured and was resuscitated on scene, but later died in the Life the Glynnwood Hospital.

The two occupants in the bakkie sustained slight and moderate injuries.

The man who was moderately hurt was transported to Life the Glynnwood Hospital.

The accident is being investigated.
