According to Sgt Constance Moalusi, Benoni SAPS cluster spokesperson, the Benoni SAPS received a complaint from a man who alleged his vehicle had been stolen at his workplace, on Dalrymple Street.
“He said his receptionist noticed two unknown men walking in the yard and he went to investigate,” said Moalusi.
On his approach, one of the men pointed a firearm at him and demanded money.
He told them he had no money and only had car keys, which he handed over to the robber.
The men drove away in the black VW Golf GTI, which was recovered on Kranskop Street, in Crystal Park, on the same day.
A case of armed robbery and theft has been opened at the Benoni SAPS.
No arrests have been made.
