Robbers escape with money during cash-in-transit robbery at Lakeside Mall

A cash-in-transit robbery took place at Lakeside Mall this morning.

According to Angela Pereira, Lakeside Mall marketing manager, the incident took place outside the entrance to Truworths, at 10.47am.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken by four robbers who had approached a cash-in-transit employee.

The money had been collected from Truworths.

“The robbers exited the mall into Tom Jones Street; no shots were fired and no injuries were reported,” said Pereira.

Pereira said shopping continued as normal and the mall is still investigating the incident.
