The man, who is believed to be in his 20s, was discovered on the corner of Singh and Lowton streets, at around 8pm.
Actonville SAPS station commander Col Fredl Jonck said community members alerted police to the body.
Jonck said no witnesses have come forward.
Police are not sure how the man died and they are waiting for the post-mortem report.
An inquest docket has been opened at the Actonville Police Station.
