SAPS arrest three – minutes after Farrarmere housebreaking

Police reacted quickly when they arrested three men 10 minutes after the trio allegedly broke into a Farrarmere property this afternoon (August 29).

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Lieut Nomsa Sekele said a house on Wilge Road was broken into at 12.50pm.

Sekele said the suspects, who are aged 19 and 20, made off with a TV, laptop, computer monitors and jewellery.

“At about 1.10pm, Benoni Flying Squad members, who were on patrol, received information from the community regarding the housebreaking and description of the motor vehicle involved,” said Sekele.

Ten minutes after the suspects left the premises, they were spotted in a red Ford Focus on Main Road.

The property taken from the housebreaking was recovered in the car, along with housebreaking implements.

The car was found to be hijacked in Durban, in July.

Police are trying to link the suspects to other crimes committed in Benoni.

The suspects are being detained at Benoni Police Station.
They will be charged with housebreaking, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of suspected stolen goods.
