Nathan Miles dies; completes seven wishes

Nathan Miles completed seven of the 10 items he had on his bucket list.

The 24-year-old Rynfield resident died in his mother’s arms at home last night (August 15).

Nathan captured the hearts of thousands of people when the 947 Breakfast Xpress team featured Nathan on their show several weeks ago.

He complied a wish list of 10 things he would like to do before he dies – one of which was to meet the 947 Breakfast Xpress team.

Nathan was diagnosed with stage three cancer and has for many years sufferred from various illnesses.

He was told he’d have six months to a year to live.

His mother, Mercia Miles, said her son completed seven of his wishes.

He did not meet Springbok lock Victor Matfield, drag race or meet The Rock and Vin Diesel.

Nathan was admitted into the Life the Glynnwood Hospital Hospital on Tuesday due to a lung infection and a blood clot in his arm.

He was discharged yesterday.

Mercia said she was in bed with her son when he called her closer.

“He called me and I was lying next to him in bed,” Mercia told the City Times.

“Within 30 minutes he was gone.”

Nathan died at 11.30pm.

The mother said her son’s experience with swimming with dolphins at uShaka Marine World was a highlight for him.

Mercia said the support she has received after Nathan’s death has been “absolutely awesome”.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
