Rotary golf day a huge success
Over R60 000 was raised by the Rotary Club of Benoni Aurora at their annual charity golf challenge, held recently at the Ebotse Golf and Country Estate.
It was a successful day, boasting a full field of 30 four-balls and 12 sponsors.
During the prize giving there was a charity art auction with 15 artworks courtesy of Elaine Marx, Art Alive and local artists along the Benoni Art Route.
These were auctioned off by fellow Rotarian and auctioneer Derek Fox.
Musician Jeff Penn provided the entertainment for the evening.
The fund-raising day was in support of local community projects which Aurora is involved in.
President of the Rotary Club of Benoni Aurora, Grace van Zyl, said the day was an appreciable success, during which the club did what they do best — raised funds and had fun while doing so.
