Man dies, wife raped in house robbery
A man died of his injuries and his wife was raped, following a house robbery in Daveyton, in the early hours of Monday (July 13).
The 70-year-old man sustained head injuries.
Benoni SAPS cluster spokesperson, WO Ramothakhi Maqabe, said three men entered the victims’ house through the roof.
“The robbers raped the man’s wife,” said Maqabe.
“It is still unclear how the man sustained the injuries; he was rushed to hospital, but died on the way.”
Police are still investigating and no arrests have been made yet.
A case of house robbery, murder and rape has been opened at the Daveyton Police Station.
