“At 7.55pm, as the victim stopped in front of the gate and got out of the vehicle, she saw someone next to her,” said Tryna Maritz, Crystal Park SAPS spokesperson.
“He told her to keep quiet and she was ordered to get out and lie down.
“The man robbed the victim of her cellphone and jewellery, took the vehicle and drove off.”
He was wearing a balaclava and was armed with a pistol.
He drove off in the victim’s white BMW, which was later found abandoned in Second Road, Van Ryn Small Holdings.
A case of hijacking has been opened at the Crystal Park Police Station, but no arrests had been made at the time of publishing.
