UPDATE: Woman thought to consume alcohol in EMPD vehicle apologises
The woman believed to have been pictured holding alcohol and sitting in the driver's seat of a marked EMPD vehicle has come out an apologised.
“My humble apologies to all. I have caused a stir by sneaking into an EMPD car while it was being washed an took pics. I’m really sorry – didn’t mean any harm [sic],” said Tshidi Ford on her Facebook page.
Her Facebook profile says she resides in Tembisa.
The photograph caused a stir on the Benoni City Times Facebook page yesterday with people lambasting the woman.
Many of the people called for her to be named and shamed.
EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago said the matter is sitting with the internal affairs department of the EMPD for investigation.
It is not clear where the photo was taken or whether the woman in the picture is an employee of the EMPD.
The City Times asked Ford for comment on Facebook but had not received any at the time of publishing.
