Farewell Toy van Biljon
Friends and family members of Toy van Biljon gathered at AFM (Apostolic Faith Mission) Church, on Thursday, May 7, for her memorial service.
Toy, who was married to Ekurhuleni Business Initiative founder Chris van Biljon for 18 years, died of colon cancer on May 1.
Over 380 people attended the service, which Chris believes shows how popular she was.
She was born in Vryheid, in KwaZulu-Natal, in 1949.
She is survived by her husband Chris and her two sons, from a previous marriage, Johan and Gert Vrey.
Toy spent 15 years as a secretary for Ekurhuleni Business Initiative and also worked for Media24 as a marketing distributor for 10 years.
“Toy loved walking on mountains, such as the Drakensberg,” said Chris.
She was also well known in Benoni for the sandwiches she made and served to hospital staff members.
After her memorial service, Toy’s body was cremated.
