WATCH: Individual caught on CCTV allegedly attempting to steal chairs

A would-be thief was captured on CCTV footage after the individual allegedly tried to make off with three chairs at a Northmead property.

The following video was published on Northmead resident Anne-Marie Neethling’s Facebook page 13 hours ago:

Sorry about the quality, I used my phone to copy the clip from our CCTV. This guy very cheekily wandered up to our front stoep & decided he fancied 3 of our chairs for himself. My husband was home & saw him, so he left the chairs, but he's obviously going to try elsewhere. This was in Northmead Benoni earlier tonight.

The suspect is seen walking around the property and piling three chairs on each other.

Before making off with the chairs, the person walked away.

“This guy very cheekily wandered up to our front stoep and decided he fancied three of our chairs for himself,” said Neethling on her Facebook.

“My husband was home and saw him, so he left the chairs, but he’s obviously going to try elsewhere.”

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Lieut Nomsa Sekele said a case has not been opened at the Benoni Police Station.

The City Times was unable to get hold of Neethling or her husband at the time of publishing.
