Four arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle

Members of the Benoni SAPS arrested four people who were found in possession of a stolen vehicle, on May 3.

They were arrested in Farrarmere after police received a complaint about a suspicious vehicle in the area.

“Upon their arrival, police found the suspects had been stopped by security officers,” said Lieut Nomsa Sekele, Benoni SAPS spokesperson.

They were arrested and taken to the Benoni SAPS.

Some of the suspects, who are aged between 25 and 35 years, were also linked to other cases, ranging from theft to shoplifting, reported in Boksburg, Kempton Park and Edenvale.

They were expected to appear at the Benoni Magistrate Court today (May 5).

“Acting station commander Col Martin van Nieuwenhuizen appreciates the efforts made by security companies working with the police to fight crime in Benoni,” said Sekele.
