Last-minute rock show welcomed in Rynfield

South African rock band The Narrow performed at the Grid and Grill Pub and Restaurant, in Rynfield.

On Saturday, April 25, the crowd was entertained with many of the band’s greatest hits, including “Where’s the fire?”, “Lonely-Lonely” and “The Banded”.

The venue was booked at the last minute, since the Freedom Festival, where the band would have played, was cancelled.

“We would have played in the vicinity for the Freedom Festival, anyway, and the bar was very willing to accommodate us on such short notice,” said Emile de Jong (guitarist) and Lias de Lange (drummer).

They were opened for by, two local rock bands, “The Ooh’s and the Aah’s” and “Them Bandits”.

The Narrow are a usual inclusion in South African music festivals, such as Oppikoppi and Ramfest, and have become greatly popular and critically acclaimed for their music and live performances.

They finished off their latest South African tour in Benoni, after which they said they would take a break for a while, before preparing for another South African tour at the end of the year.
