CPF election dates set for Crystal Park

You are invited to cast your vote or nominate someone to stand for election in the Crystal Park Community Police Forum (CPF) Sector Elections.

The election is open to all persons who work, live or own property in the confines of the Crystal Park Police Station precinct.

The election will serve to elect people for the following portfolios for each sector:

  •  chairperson;
  •  deputy chairperson;
  •  secretary;
  •  deputy secretary;
  •  treasurer;
  •  PRO;
  •  additional members.

Elections will be held on the following dates:

  •  Sector One (Cloverdene and Crystal Park)

Date: May 6

Time: 6.30pm

Venue: Crystal Park Primary School

Requirements to cast a vote:

  •  All residents residing on or owning property within the sector boundaries are invited to attend and participate in the elections.
  •  Must be over 18 years of age
  •  Entitled to one vote per person
  •  Voting shall be by show of hands.

These persons are not eligible to stand as a candidate:

  •  Serving employees of SAPS, as regulated in the SAPS Act as amended (including the employees of Metro Police Departments), employees of both the national and provincial secretariats for police services, employees of the Independent Police Investigative Department;
  •  SAPS reservists, unless required in an ex-officio capacity;
  •  Persons with a criminal record, after April 27, 1994, unless expunged in terms of the Criminal Procedures Act;
  •  Owners and employees of private security companies as regulated by the PSIRA, unless required in an ex-officio capacity;
  •  Persons who are not citizens of the Republic of South Africa;
  •  Persons under the age of 18 years, unless representing an elected CPF youth desk representative;
  •  Persons holding elected political positions in registered political parties with responsibilities in public office;
  •  Any person who may have a direct conflict of interest with the operations and crime intelligence of the SAPS, unless required in an ex-officio capacity.
