Roodepoort resident Lenie Pieterse outshone 10 other contestants to be crowned Miss Inspire South Africa 2015 and the face of non-profit organisation Inspire Sport and Empowerment Academy.

She carried off a prize of R25 000.

The first princess is Tsholofelo Mosala (R15 000), and the second princess is Seipati Matloga (R10 000).

The top three winners also each received a product range of Clear Start, from Dermalogica.

The 10 finalists, many of whom were from other provinces in the country, certainly came up with the goods to impress the judges in the questions section of judging.

They were judged by Miss Inspire South Africa founder Litshani Tshuma, Sarah Tsengiwe (from the NPO Women of Virtue) and Nozi Qutu (image consultant at Glam and Fab).

In addition to being asked tough questions on stage, the contestants strutted their stuff on the catwalk in evening wear, swimsuit and a cocktail wear section.

Between the busy schedule, the audience was entertained by the powerful voice of Solace and some fancy footwork by Inspire Kids.

Miss Inspire South Africa seeks to develop women and raise money for the Marister-based Inspire Sport and Empowerment Academy.

“It is by engaging in community development initiatives that confidence is instilled and opportunities present themselves,” said Tshuma.

“The aim of the Miss Inspire South Africa competition is to inspire the young women of South Africa to realise their full potential and their dreams, and to have options in life to advance and, thus, inspire other young women to do the same.”
