The new committee includes Vivian Chauke (community safety), Thumbu Mahlangu (city planning and economic development), Aubrey Nxumalo (human settlement), Queen Duba (corporate and shared services), Petros Muhlari (roads and transport), Ndosi Shongwe (environment) and Dorah Mlambo (sports, heritage, recreation, arts and culture)

Gungubele announced the changes after he had delivered his State of the City Address and said he made the changes in order to accelerate service delivery.

“We gave a full report of how we have done since we took office in May, 2011,” he said.

“However, in an effort to optimise service delivery we must continuously assess our performance, so that the necessary interventions can be made.”
