Pesky driving schools should go elsewhere

Peter Bachtis writes by email:

The once quiet streets of Western Extension have been besieged by pesky and thoroughly annoying driving schools and their equally annoying learner drivers, who insist on achieving a code 10, rather than a code eight.

A code 10 licence is easier to achieve than a code eight, so throngs of wannabe drivers are being duped into paying hefty fees to achieve the code 10.

They stop at stop streets, as they should … they then look left, right, left again, look in the rear view mirror, ensuring their make-up is not smudged, fiddle with the gear lever … gently release the clutch and promptly stall their trucks.

In the meantime, queues are forming, creating turbulence and great annoyance in drivers who want to get to their destination.

So, dear learner schools, why do you not go and ply your trade in Ebotse, Alphen Park and Boat Lake Village?

I assure you the residents of those suburbs will chase you, never to return.

There are numerous other suburbs that can share this incessant annoyance, so make a plan!
