Man in his 60s falls off scaffolding

A man survived, but suffered serious injuries, falling off scaffolding yesterday (February 23).

ER24 JHB East spokesperson Glen Orritt said paramedics received calls for the man who had fallen off scaffolding shortly before 5pm.

Paramedics arrived on scene at a business in Peenz Street, Putfontein and were taken to the inside of a warehouse where they found a man, in his 60s, lying on the ground.

Orritt said they were told that the man was working on the scaffolding when he fell about five metres to the ground.

“The man was assessed and although conscious had suffered serious injuries,” said Orritt.

ER24 ‘s medical helicopter was called and the man was airlifted from scene to Life the Glynnwood Hospital.

Orritt thanked Life the Glynnwood paramedics, Benoni CPF and other services for their assistance.
