A Post Office spokesperson was reported as saying that the undelivered post would all be cleared by Christmas. This did not happen.
I am still receiving post which goes back to October and November.
I used to receive post nearly every day, but ever since the strike ended, I only receive it, if I am lucky, once a week and then it is less that I used to receive.
I don’t understand why the Post Office does not concentrate on delivering the current post first, which is the most important, and make up the back log afterwards.
Needless to say I did receive my post office box renewal notice on time.
No doubt is was given preference.
My post box is in Brentwood Park and for some reason we do not receive the service that other areas do.
Sunward Park receives post regularly and so do other areas of Boksburg.
Bedfordview has been receiving post every day.
If, as I suspect, post is delivered once a week, we should be advised as to what day it is, to save trips to the post box.
I complained to the Benoni Post Office about the shocking service, but needless to say, have not received a reply.
Apparently there is the possibility of another strike.
If this does materialise, the police and perhaps the army should be used to make sure that employees who want to work are protected and allowed to work.
