Jendaya parakeet found in Rynfield

Andre Bosman writes by email:

I am trying to locate the owner of a lost jenday conure (jandaya parakeet).

We found him, or her, in our garden on Thursday, January 22, in a very distraught condition.

Fortunately a few days of pampering and feeding restored him, or her, to full life.

As is the nature of these birds, it is very active and eagerly accepts any attention it can get.

We do believe that it is most likely someone’s pet that escaped.

We live in Goodman Street, Rynfield, and have been posting notes in the residential post boxes in our immediate area since Friday evening, and have been in contact with our local SPCA, without any success thus far.

Unfortunately the cage we have available is a bit small for this type of bird and our only other alternate (if we cannot trace the owner) is to hand the bird over to the SPCA.

Anyone with information about the owners of the parakeet is urged to contact 011 425 2458.
