U3A to hold first meeting

The East Rand branch of the University of the Third Age (U3A) is welcoming the public to join them at their first talk of the year, on January 30.

Kobie du Plessis, a cosmetician, will address the U3A and visitors at the Benoni Bowling Club (on the corner of Newlands Avenue and Turvey Street) from 10am.

Du Plessis will discuss topics which include, cheaper options for cosmetics as well as remedies and recipes for household, medicinal or beauty use.

No fee will be charged.

The University of the Third Age (U3A) movement is an organisation which provides life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities.

Retired and semi-retired people come together and learn, not for qualifications, but for their own benefit.

Members share their skills and life experiences; learners teach and the teachers learn, and there is no distinction between them.
