Ekurhuleni apologises for water interruption

Water is expected to be restored to parts of Benoni by 3pm today (January 30).

“The interruption is due to a major leak on a bulk pipe line that supplies water to Benoni reservoirs,” said Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe.

“Repair works are currently underway and water is expected to be restored this afternoon.”

Roving water tankers have been provided for domestic purposes in the following areas:

n Sasol Garage, Pretoria and Vlei roads, Rynfield.

n Webb and Hospital roads, Northmead.

n Spar Shopping Centre, Crystal Park.

The municipality apologised for any inconvenience caused.

Parts of Benoni were without water on January 22 and 23 after a pipe burst on Great North Road.
