Shané set to compete in Miss SA finale

Shané Naidoo has made the cut as a Top 12 finalist in the Miss South Africa 2015 pageant.

The Farrarmere resident impressed the judges enough to be able to compete at the grand finale event, at Sun City, on March 29.

“I am absolutely elated to have made it to the Top 12 of Miss SA, and I feel so blessed and extremely grateful for the opportunity to represent the East Rand at the finale,” said Naidoo.

She was nervous and pleased when the judges announced the results.

“My emotions ran high when I found out that I had been selected to be a finalist for the pageant,” she said.

She hopes that this opportunity will bring her one step closer to helping to empower South African women.

“It is such an honour to be selected to complete in the final pageant and possibly have my dream of being an ambassador for women, as well as for our beautiful county, become a reality,” she added.

Since December, Naidoo has been to the United Arab Emirates and has worked at an engineering company.

She has also worked with various organisations in preparation for the Miss SA pageant.

In the next few weeks she and the other finalists will attend various events and media launches throughout South Africa.

“We will return to Sun City in March, for the final judging, rehearsals and for the pageant night in the Sun City Super-bowl,” said Naidoo.

For now, as she waits in anticipation for the final evening, Naidoo will live by Mahatma Gandhi’s advice to be the change she wants see in the world.

“I am thankful for the encouragement and support I have received from family, friends and my community.

“I look forward to the coming months with great anticipation,” she said.
