Ekurhuleni repairs water line today, two days before planned

The planned maintenance which was scheduled to replace a valve on a main water line feeding Brentwood Park and Goedeburg with water, is being conducted today - two days before planned.

Ekurhuleni spokesperson Lebogang Ramashala told the City Times this morning that the decision to repair the fault sooner was made to fast-track the process, in order to alleviate water cuts in the two suburbs.

Water will be off in the two suburbs from 9am until 6pm today, while the work is being conducted.

Clr André du Plessis, of Ward 23, said it was unacceptable for the municipality to move the date of repair without properly communicating this to him and the public.

He said he saw the email notification late on Tuesday night, too late to inform people of the water cut on time.

Water tankers are available at these intersections today:

n Kirschner and Dickinson roads.

n Vryburg and High roads.

n Beryl Street and Great North Road.
