‘Who Am I?’ Chaza refuses to be classified as a disabled person

The Oasis of Life Family Church, in Daveyton, was turned into a melting pot of introspection when Basil Chaza recorded his DVD, entitled ‘’Who Am I?’’, on August 30.

Chaza told people his life story and how it wasn’t easy growing up in Daveyton, where everyone was alienating him because of the fact that he walked with a limp from the age of five, after he had an accident.
“I was incorrectly operated on,” he said.
The fact that he had a limp also caused teachers at his primary school to classify him as disabled and suggest he attend school for the disabled, but he refused.
“I wasn’t going to allow people’s perceptions of me to determine how I was going to lead my life,” said Chaza.
He urged people to rise above their struggle and use their talents and potential to their fullest.
“Some people are in jobs they hate, simply because they do not know who they are,’’ he said.
“Others will leave this world without using the potential that was given to them.
“Aim to leave this world empty, utilise your God-given potential; the fact that you were born should tell you that you are great.”
“You were made in his image and you were brought into this world to have dominion,” said Chaza.
He aimed to unearth the inner potential and greatness of every individual who was in attendance.
Among the speakers was Sicelo Ka Nkosi who encouraged people to also rise above their greatness.
Chaza thanked all the dignitaries, pupils and residents who took time from their busy schedules to attend his live DVD recording.
