Northmead Mall a hub of activity

The Northmead Mall held its formal launch from August 28 to 31.

The renovations started two years ago, with the entire mall receiving a facelift, inside and out.

The work cost R40-million and is expected to be completed in the next few months, with the building of a food court still in progress.

There are 65 additional parking bays at entrance two and a 22-bed clinic in the mall.

The opening was celebrated with jumping castles for children, face-painting and a stilt walker.

In addition, a truck was present to provide music and specials were on sale to mark the occasion.

Hordes of people were also present for the East Rand Model Railway Interest Group (Emrig).
