More of Mia on Mela

He was seen on the Bar One Manhunt reality show, he is also seen on Generations, and Fadeen Mia fans now have the chance to see him on SABC 2, on Sundays.

The 30-year-old heart throb from Lakefield was invited to be one of the presenters of Mela, a brand new Indian lifestyle show, which is the new version of the previous show, Eastern Mosaic, but even bigger and better, according to Mia.

“We have also gone more modern and will engage on topics that relate to a more youthful audience as well,” said Mia.

He will present segments of the show and interview prominent personalities.

Mia said he has always been attracted to presenting and that this opportunity, at such a high level (national level) is truly a dream come true.”

When asked what he is hoping to achieve, using this position, Mia said he would like to build a brand and bring his own take on presenting for lifestyle shows.

“Also, I believe life is all about having fun, so I am going to enjoy every moment of this experience and make the most of my time as a presenter on Mela, hopefully opening more doors in this industry in the near future,” he added.

Also knowing the tricks of the DJing trade, a must-accomplish dream belonging to Mia “DJ Rich and Creamy” is to become a radio DJ for a commercial Radio station; “now that is one goal I need to achieve,” he said.

“I am truly honored and feel really blessed to have such an opportunity… and it is true that ‘hard work’ really pays off at the end,” said Mia.

One of Mia’s idols is actor and wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, for entering the film industry through another occupation.

“I think this proved to me that there are more ways to achieve your dreams than going straight for it, especially when those doors are closed on you,” said Mia.

“And, for the record, the Rock is now one of the biggest and highest earning Hollywood actors at the moment, not bad for a guy that had seven dollars in his pocket when he started in the industry.”

He is also inspired by presenters Lunga Shabalala (Selmithunzi) and Janez Vermeiren (Top Billing).

His advice to others following in his footsteps are to build a brand for themselves.

“Do as many things as possible that you good at, you never know what doors will open from something that is completely different; look at me, I am now a presenter on national television through doing an Iron Man-type reality show,” he said.

“Keep pushing towards your dreams and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, if you want it bad enough… you will get it.”

Mia is making a point of pursuing his new venture as himself, and said he will try to keep it as real as possible.

“I think my crazy self is something that should bring a smile to viewers faces on a Sunday and’, hopefully, relate to them on a deeper level.”

Mia is also a senior project manager at Standard Bank and enjoys going to the gym and playing soccer for Benoni SCBI.

The first flighting of Mela will be on Sunday, August 31, at 10.30am.
