Johan Potgieter took over the reins from outgoing chairperson Amiel Maritz at the beginning of August.
Maritz resigned after starting his own security company in Crystal Park and Cloverdene.
Potgieter will head the CPF in Crystal Park and Cloverdene after he was voted in by the members in those two areas.
The new chairperson said he will address house breakings and drug-related crimes, as well as forging a stronger bond between the community and the SAPS during his tenure.
Maritz will continue to work with the SAPS and Potgieter to ensure the relationship between the CPF and police is maintained.
Sector One CPF meetings are held at the Crystal Park SAPS, at 6.30pm, on the first Wednesday of every month.
