Watch out for house robbers in a Hyundai H100 with orange light

The Benoni police are warning residents about three occupants of a white Hyundai H100, involved in two house robberies in the area.

The vehicle is fitted with a canopy and has a flashing orange light on its roof.

Their latest house robbery occurred on August 21, in Rynfield.

Benoni police cluster commander Brig Poobalan Subbiah said the men stole electronic items from the house.

He said they gained entry into the property by lying to the domestic worker that they had come to change curtain blinds.

The property owners were not at home; one was reported to be overseas, while the other was in Nelspruit.

Subbiah said that a vehicle fitting the same description was involved in a robbery in Starlight Street, Farrarmere, last week.

They used the same modus operandi to gain access into the property and stole electronic items.

Subbiah urge property owners to issue strict instructions to their domestic workers not to grant anyone access under any circumstances.

He said the vehicle’s registration number has been falsified.
