“A total of nine illegal shebeens were closed in Chief Albert Luthuli Park, and one foreign tuck shop was closed in Crystal Park Extension 32 for unlicensed trading,” said Tryna Maritz, communication officer for Crystal Park SAPS.
During the stop and search operations in the area, 15 knives and one axe were confiscated.
Station commander Lieut-Col Belinda Motaung thanked SAPS members and the metro police for working together in combating crime.
