Massive Mandela Day event at Actonville SAPS

The Actonville police held a massive Mandela Day event, at the Actonville SAPS, on Friday, July 18.

A total of 150 children from four different crèches in Wattville, aged between three and five years, attended the event.

The following people volunteered/contributed/gave back to the community as follows:

  •  Outreach Unlimited (cleaning material and food for the children).
  •  Pastor Prinsloo (toys and fruits for the children).
  •  China Buthelezi (taxis to transport all children from the identified crèches from Wattville to Actonville SAPS).

DJ S’busiso form NBSS Company (mobile stage and DJ for the day).

The event started with a march from Mayet Drive to the Actonville Police Station.

Pastor Breytenbach, from Outreach, opened the event with prayer at the Client Service Centre (CSC).

On the day, the cleaning team proceeded with cleaning the CSC and some of the offices within the station, while social workers from the Victim Empowerment Centre (VEC) continued with the educational programme for the children.

All role players, educators and children were given a tour of the station, including the detention cells.

The children were served food and entertained.

Each child was then handed a party pack, and boxes containing toys were also handed to the management of the different crèches to distribute to the children.
