Planning for Benoni Carnival underway
The event will serve as a fund-raiser for the Benoni CPF
Businesses, NPOs and NGOs are urged to join hands with the Benoni Community Policing Forum (CPF), at the Benoni Carnival.
The carnival will take place at Willowmoore Park on September 27.
Benoni CPF executive chairperson Reza Patel said these organisations and institutions could benefit from receiving a percentage of the day’s proceeds.
Those who participate will have to be involved in the run-up to the event.
The carnival is a fund-raiser for the Benoni CPF, who will use funds to undergo training and purchase items required for the fight against crime.
Patel said 20 to 30 per cent of Benoni CPF members cannot afford the items needed for them to fulfil their obligations.
So far, the SAPS and the South African National Defence Force have confirmed to have displays at the event.
