Flying squad make 80kg dagga bust

Members of the Flying Squad arrested a man for being in possession of dagga on July 10.

The members were conducting stop and search operations in Emandleni informal settlement in Actonville when they made the discovery.

Capt Falaza Mathebula of the Germiston Flying Squad said that the members, Sgt’s Simon Khumalo and George Mabasa, stopped two suspicious men and searched them.

“They found small bags of dagga in their possession and upon being questioned they pointed them to the dealer,” said Mathebula.

The police proceeded to the house and discovered an 80kg bag, a 25L bucket and several small bags full of dagga.

The value of the dagga is not yet known.

The three were arrested, two for possession and one for dealing.

They are expected to appear soon in the Benoni Magistrates Court.
