Ramadaan feeding continues

2 000 people come for the feeding.

The Bawa’s Tollie of Benoni feed the fasting people of Actonville and Ekurhuleni every Sunday, during the month of Ramadan.

The organisation has continued their tradition of cooking in large pots for the past 38 years in celebration of Ramadan, a Muslim fasting month.

The food (known as Halim) is cooked at the Buzme Adab Hall in Actonville, in 40 large pots.

As many as 2 000 people come to the hall every Sunday during Ramadan, for the feeding.

This worthy cause helps alleviate poverty through job creation for those who prepare the food and wash the pots.

Director of the organisation Abdul Gaffoor Shaik thanked members for their commitment.

“We would also like to wish all Muslims a joyous Eid-uI-Fitr,” said Shaik.
