Health day at Terrace Pharmacy

Proceeds from Iron testing were donated to the Benoni SPCA

The Terrace Pharmacy, at the Rynfield Terrace, centre held a Winter Health Day on July 5.

People were invited to come and have their sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol levels tested, and to donate blood.

Sister Marian Maleema, an asthma specialist, conducted tests on iron levels.

Various promotions were held outside the pharmacy, for health foods, vitamin, mineral and gym and energy supplements.

A colouring-in competition for children was held on the day, with hampers to be won.

Robert George Sainsbury, who is 100 years old, came to support the initiative and has been a valuable customer of the Terrace Pharmacy for over two years.

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) were also present for people to donate blood.

All the proceeds from the Iron testing on the day were donated to the Benoni SPCA.

The SPCA will continue to run its drive until September, and people are encouraged to donate dog, cat food and blankets to the Terrace Pharmacy.
