CMS bust thug under a bed

Police arrested two suspects for housebreaking, in Northmead, on June 23.

The CMS received a complaint of a housebreaking at Ninth Avenue and Second Street, at around 8pm.

“Upon arrival they noticed one of the suspects running into the house,” said police spokesperson Lieut Nomsa Sekele.

“The security guards proceeded into the house, started searching, and found the first suspect hiding in the bedroom; the second suspect was found hiding under a bed, in the lounge.”

Sekele said police were called and the two suspects, aged 23 and 26, were arrested and detained at the Benoni SAPS.

“Further investigation will be conducted to establish whether the suspects can be linked to other housebreakings which occurred in the Benoni precinct previously,” said Sekele.

Benoni SAPS station commander Brig Poobalan Subbiah praised the security guards for a job well done.

The suspects will appear in the Benoni Magistrates Court soon.

The investigation is continuing.
