Benoni man killed in Impala Park shooting

No arrests have been made in the case

The man who died in a shooting incident in Impala Park, on Tuesday, is from Benoni.

The 49-year-old Cloverdene resident was fatally wounded when he was shot at his business partner’s home, in De Havilland Avenue.

The business partner (46), who was in a critical condition on Tuesday after the shooting, was with his business partner when the incident happened.

”At around 11.30am the helper (at the Impala Park home) noticed a suspicious-looking vehicle parked directly opposite the gate,” said Gauteng SAPS provincial spokesperson Capt Tsekiso Mofokeng.

”She then called the owner, who was at work at the time.”

Mofokeng said the home owner arrived at the house with his partner and saw the white Audi with two occupants in it.

”As the owner and his colleague got out of the car to investigate, the two guys fired shots at them,” said Mofokeng.

The two men fled the scene and no arrests have been made.

The man who was fatally wounded is believed to be a Benoni businessman.

Anyone who might have witnessed the shooting is urged to contact the Boksburg North Police Station on 011 898 3000.

The case is being investigated.

Cases of murder and attempted murder were opened.

The family did not want to comment on the incident this morning.
