Get inked for Brogan

Brogan Mahony (26), a former Benoni resident, was viciously attacked from behind on his birthday, on December 14.

He was found by paramedics at 3am, on Commissioner Street, in Boksburg, where he had been left unconscious.

Mahony suffered severe head injuries and doctors said he would never talk or walk again.

Because of his love of tattoos, Jozi Ink custom tattoos have offered to dedicate a day to Mahony.

On June 7, Jozi Ink, on Great North Road, next to Wespack Lifestyle Centre, will honour him by raising money.

The project will run from 8am to 5pm.

Smaller tattoos will be inked for R500, and half the proceeds will go towards Mahony’s therapy expenses.

Mahony currently stays at Rowley’s Rest, a nursing home specialising in neuro-trauma care and rehabilitation as well as respite care, in Western Extension.

He has proved the doctors wrong and is slowly recovering his speech and taking small steps.

“I am completely blown away by the love all his friends have shown since this incident,” said his mother, Xavier Mahony.
