Paramedics arrived on scene and found that a car and a bakkie had collided at the intersection.
ER24 JHB East spokesperson Glen Orritt said bystanders ushered paramedics to a woman lying on the roadside.
The paramedics were informed by the witnesses that she was the driver and only occupant of the car, and had been ejected from the vehicle during the collision.
“The paramedics immediately assessed the woman, who was in her 30s, and found that she had suffered moderate injuries,” said Orritt.
She was stabilised on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital by ER24 for further care.
The driver and only occupant of the bakkie was not injured.
Orritt thanked the EMPD Equestrian Unit for their assistance.
The collision will be investigated by local authorities.
