It's time to give back to those in need.

Curves Rynfield’s annual food drive promotion starts on May 5, and gives individuals an opportunity to donate food to feed children in need.

“The 2014 Curves food drive is designed to provide a way for the local Curves community to come together and feed the needs of a local needy institution, and the need for women’s health, wellness and fitness,” said Astrid Tippel, owner of Curves Rynfield, in Northmead.

If you are a member of Curves Rynfield, you can help by donating.

“Members have the opportunity to bring in a generous bag of non-perishable food, or give a cash donation which can be used to buy non-perishable food and add to the food collection,” said Tippel.

New members can join Curves Complete or Curves Fitness for free with their contribution.

“The new members can add a generous contribution of non-perishable food to the food collection,” said Tippel.

Curves Rynfield have chosen Project Feed the Children as their charity of choice.

Briony Holloway, centre manager, said Project Feed the Children is a non-profit organisation that was started in April 2008 and feeds close to 16 000 people in Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Kwa Zulu-Natal.

“Our kitchen is based in Cloverdene, where we serve two meals per day to approximately 80 to 110 children on a daily basis,” she added.
