The men implicated in Dumisane Ndlovu’s murder were arrested in the Lindelani Informal Settlement, shortly after the murder, which took place in the early hours of April 12, at around 1am.
”It is alleged that the victim was coming from a tavern in Chief Albert Luthuli Park, when he was chased by a group of men,” said Crystal Park SAPS media liaison officer Tryna Maritz.
”The victim was caught and stabbed four times with a knife – twice in his face, once in his chest and once in the back.”
Maritz said an eyewitness said the victim made an attempt to flee, but failed and collapsed next to a car.
The seven suspects, who are facing charges of murder, appeared in the Benoni Magistrates Court on April 14.
An ID parade will be held on April 16.
Police believe two more men are involved in the crime.
Maritz said police are following up on leads and that an arrest is imminent.
The motive for the murder is unknown.
