Wrap to release their debut album

Hip hop group Where Real Art Progresses (Wrap) will release their debut album, Evolving Virtually Out of Love (EVOL) later this month.

Wrap is made up of Crystal Park residents Zama “Content” Nzama (21) and Senzo“Kidnefu”  Mabena (23).

The album has 14 songs, a number of which were produced by Jemaine Shezi; Charlie Brown and Paper Cutt also produced a few songs.

On the album they worked with the Mansions on the Moon, The Layders and Beat Killa Supreme.

“The content we deliver and the way we make our songs sets us apart from the rest, I’d like to call our sound very refreshing,” said Zama.

They describe their sound as alternative hip hop.

“We describe it like this because of the sounds we use, and the way our songs are structured, said Senzo.

He added that the public can download the album on Itunes and once the hard copies are in demand they will supply the major retail stores.

“In five years time we see ourselves being one of the biggest acts to come out of Africa and living the dream that we’ve been chasing,” said the pair.

They hope to work with Kid Cudi, Khuli Chana, Loui Lvndn and Ricky Rick.

They have known each other for about eight years.

“We spoke about working together and when we eventually did our music was so good that we decide to start a movement,” said Senzo.

The pair was watching a show about recycling on the Discovery Channel, when the the word paper wrap came up, and that is basically how they decided on their name.

“All those who would like to follow in our footsteps must make their own lane and stick to it; hard work really pays off, but make your parents understand what you want to do so that you have the proper support, it’s a tough world out there,” said Zama.

Senzo added that, when you do anything, strive to be the best and find a gap that you and only you can fill.
